Our events consist of a weekend of divisional competition, food, fun, friendships, workshops, awards and prizes primarily throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. We encourage, promote, and share the love of the Carolina Shag with all age groups.

If you are interested in being a part of our family at a competitive level or you want to come and support your favorite dancers, check our website for schedules and begin to enjoy the dance, the people and the music.

Our primary objective has been and is to provide contests that are well run according to the sanctioning guidelines outlined in the rules and regulations established by the dancers.

While our organization can only recognize divisional wins and points associated with CSA sanctioned contests, our members individually choose to participate in a variety of other shag related events. As an organization our members support all shag related functions. We donate money each year to the Shaggers’ Hall of Fame Foundation and other charities.

Our desire and commitment is to represent the CSA dancers in the best possible way. We wish all members to be proud of their association. The benefits of membership include well organized contests with divisional integrity operated according to the sanctioning guidelines approved by the dancers, regular communications and updates, utilizing news letters, email, and website, and an annual awards banquet and party complete with Pro points money, points recognition, and special awards. Fellowship and camaraderie and being part of a group with common goals that is recognized in and outside the shag community are additional and sometimes overlooked benefits.

If competition is not for you, but you love to watch top level dancers exhibit their skills The Friends of CSA may be just the ticket. The Friends of CSA is a special level of CSA for those who love to see shagging at its best. It offers you a chance to be a part of preserving the shag & the special culture that goes with the dance & the music. It makes it possible for you to help support the clubs & dancers that keep shag & competitive dancing alive. Your membership also includes an invitation to the annual CSA banquet & party.
